Experience & Qualifications: 

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare as a Registered Dietitian preferably with counseling experience

• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration

•Certified Dietitian-Nutritionists in New York State on hire or within six (6) months of hire required

Responsibilities:

• The Outpatient Dietitian will provide a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s nutrition status through anthropometrics, diet history, labs, past medical history, emotional/social issues etc

• To analyze and provide appropriate nutritional therapy

• Outpatient Dietitians will develop realistic, measurable goals to manage the patient’s nutrition plan

• The Outpatient Dietitian is needed in supporting individual/group counseling, and leading support group secessions throughout the patient’s weight loss journey whether surgical or non-surgical weight loss is used

• The Outpatient Dietitian documents interactions with patient in accordance to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recognized standards

• The Outpatient Dietitian will understand billing practices, bill for appropriate services-based Level of Service, duration of counseling conducted

• Outpatient Dietitian will participate in monthly staff meetings, assist in reviewing and revising department quality initiatives to support the clinics and over hospitals mission, goals and values
